that is the title of one of the new songs i'm working on with the band. It has come down to this. where all is brown and milky...but it's not some yummy drink...like fucking yoohoo...it's been kinda a droll day today. went to work and everyone was hung over from last night's "work x-mas party" where we all went bowling at the pin-up bowl. I actually won the first game at a measly 115 points...ya, lab rats are not that awesome at sports of any kind. I was losing pretty bad the 2nd game but michelle and i got outta there in time for me to pass the game on to someone else. but today was today...not much to be said. I work in a lab at Wash U. and it's a great job. Sometimes it can get like a rerun day...everything is the same..nothing to get excited about...but most jobs get rerun days unless yr an astronaut or some shit...but I think even they have rerun days..."gotta figure out how to poop in 0 gee again...oh I better get this shit written up in the log again"...anyway...got home..did the normal things here...peanuts was on TV so we let Quen and Faren watch that...then it was reading and feeding and screaming and now I'm in the basement once again...ahhhhh..i love it....
ya know, I'm starting to think I might want to do somethin' more useful with this blog...like review albums or movies...but I'm not that great at it...but I used to do it for a mag called The Lumpen Times...I did a strip of live music reviews called "ruin the gig" and mostly reviewed my friends bands who where a part of the Chicago "No-Wave" stick...ya know in the early 1990's. That was a great time to be in Chicago. Thing here in St. Louis was doing pretty awesome as well...seems to be tapering..but not as much as Chicago does after a good thing happens...it pretty much crashes into total shit. right now, Chicago seems to be in a upswing again with interesting music and happenings...and Lumpen seems to always be involved with it somehow...they are good at being an estimator on the noise and they don't get all foggy on the now cine...some mags and bloggers tend to get stuck in the past. One rule I always had was never review a band by saying they sound like someone else. Most bands hate that. Almost 90% of the time I'm sure the band never heard of the band some reviewer said they sounded like. Also review a band in a creative way to make it as interesting as the music itself..make it seem like you were inspired by it...even if the music is shit...write like you just had one. Anyway...I could not review live acts anymore cuz I don't make it out enough to do so. Like tonight I would have done anything to see Awesome Color play Spooky Action. but I'm here at home in my basement plucking away in my blog. it would be easier for me to review releases...but I have not gotten much as of late...I think the last thing that came into my hands was Nandor's CD..which is amazing I'd say...but that is not a review...in my book..that's just quick response..if I do decide to review..that will be the first album I would do since it's the last one I got and it's a fairly new album...shit I'm pretty excited now...but I'm too pooped to do it now..and I still gotta write a few e-mails...anywhey...just come back maybe I'll do it...soon...maybe
